Appraisals
"Our Appraisal Story"
The ink was hardly dry on our marriage license when my husband and I moved to California. We were 22 and anxious for our new life to begin. I loved my new husband and of course my beautiful rings. In 1969 we met Linda Mandel, owner of Mandel Jewelers. After a short chat we knew Linda would be our jeweler from then on.
I love diamonds and my husband can't seem to have enough watches. We feel jewelry should be worn and not left in a safe deposit box. Linda has always done our appraisals and encouraged us to maintain a rider that includes some of our nicer pieces. It's attached to our homeowner's policy and is updated every three years at no charge. We wear our jewelry all the time and don't worry because it's insured.

Linda would like to invite you to stop by Mandel Jewelers for a FREE verbal appraisal of your fine jewelry.
At that time you may wish to consider a formal appraisal for insurance purposes ($150 up to 6 items). This will give you the opportunity to have pieces checked for wear and perhaps Linda can suggest what can be done to bring them back to their original DAZZLE! |

APPRAISAL TIPS
- Be sure the appraiser has completed format training or has the equivalent amount of experience in jewelry appraisal to qualify as a professional.
- Be sure the appraiser works full-time and has an extensive background in all aspects of the jewelry business.
- Be sure to give the appraiser copies of documentation you have relative to the jewelry to be appraised.
- Be sure to ask what the appraisal includes, how long it will take, and if your jewelry is insured when it is in their possession.
- Be sure your insurance company accepts appraisals from whomever you have chosen to appraise your precious gems.
- Be sure to ask what the charge will be. The fee for a professional appraisal should only be an hourly or per piece rate based on the time and complexity and never a percentage of the value of the items being appraised.
